ATHENS, GA — The Georgia Bulldogs have officially returned to the top of college football, earning the No. 1 ranking in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll following an impressive 20–17 victory over Alabama.
Georgia traveled to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, October 10, for one of the most anticipated matchups of the college football season.
Entering the game ranked second nationally, the Bulldogs faced a sixth-ranked Alabama team that had not lost a game this season.
Georgia delivered a strong performance on both sides of the football, overcoming the challenge of playing in one of college football’s toughest road environments.
The three-point victory improved Georgia’s record to 6–0 overall and 4–0 in Southeastern Conference play.
Following the win, the Bulldogs moved into the nation’s top position, further strengthening their standing as a leading contender for the College Football Playoff.
The victory also marked Georgia’s first win in Tuscaloosa since 2007, adding historical significance to an already important conference matchup.
With the Bulldogs now sitting atop the national rankings, expectations continue to grow for head coach Kirby Smart and his program.
Georgia will look to maintain its undefeated record and build on the momentum of one of its biggest victories of the season.
