Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese added another milestone to her rapidly growing legacy on Saturday, becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 career rebounds. Reese achieved the historic feat during Atlanta’s 113-96 victory over the Indiana Fever at State Farm Arena, further cementing her status as one of the league’s most dominant rebounders.
The Atlanta forward reached the 1,000-rebound mark in just 79 career games, breaking the previous record held by Tina Charles by an impressive 10 games. Reese finished the contest with 18 points and eight rebounds while helping the Dream secure a convincing win over Indiana. The former LSU standout continues to lead the WNBA in rebounding, averaging nearly 12 boards per game during another standout season.
Following the game, Reese reflected on the achievement and the hard work that goes into becoming an elite rebounder. She emphasized the effort required to consistently battle for offensive rebounds and create second-chance opportunities for her team. Since joining the Atlanta Dream, Reese has played a major role in the team’s rise near the top of the WNBA standings, bringing toughness, energy, and record-breaking production on a nightly basis.
The historic performance adds another chapter to Reese’s already remarkable young career. With multiple All-Star appearances, league rebounding titles, and now the fastest path to 1,000 rebounds in WNBA history, the Atlanta star continues to establish herself as one of the most impactful players in women’s basketball.
