FIND OUT WHERE ATLANTA LANDED IN RAKINGS AMONGST OTHER URBAN CITIES.

According to the 13th annual “America’s Most Literate Cities” positioning

Out of the 82 biggest urban areas in America, Atlanta is a standout amongst the most literate of the metro cities. The Central Connecticut State University researched U.S. urban areas with an expected populace of no less than 250,000 starting at July 1, 2015.They then looked at the urban areas in light of six key markers of proficiency: number of book shops, instructive achievement (rate of the grown-up populace with no less than a secondary school certificate or four year college education), web assets, periodical distributing assets (magazines) and daily paper dissemination and came to a census after all the data was collected ranking Atlanta # 4 out of the top 82.

Here’s how the metro fared across the six key indicators:

  • Booksellers: 11
  • Education: 8.5 (tied with Colorado Springs, Colorado)
  • Internet: 17.5 (tied with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)
  • Library: 29.5 (tied with Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky)
  • Magazine: 6
  • Newspaper: 6

Rounding out the top five were Seattle, Washington; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and San Francisco, California.
