It appears John Legend is taking his talents to the small screen. On Tuesday, it was revealed that the G.O.O.D. Music singer will guest appear as the iconic abolitionist Frederick Douglass in a new episode of WGN’s Underground show.
Starring in the “Whiteface” episod John will appear as the historical figure alongside a group of prominent abolitionists attending a Philadelphia party hosted by the show’s character Cato (played by Alano Miller), according to a press release.
Legend, who also serves as the show’s executive producer, says portraying Douglass was a huge honor and humbling experience.
