ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta drivers are continuing to feel the impact of higher prices at the pump as gasoline costs remain above $4 per gallon across Georgia.
As of Sept. 28, the average price for regular gasoline in metro Atlanta had climbed to approximately $4.24 per gallon, while Georgia’s statewide average stood near $4.19, according to figures based on AAA data.
Georgia’s statewide average increased roughly 10 cents from the previous week.
The increase means filling a typical 15-gallon tank at Atlanta’s average price would cost about $63.60.
Higher fuel costs can extend beyond the gas station. Businesses that rely heavily on transportation may face increased operating expenses, while families with long daily commutes can see transportation take a larger share of their monthly budgets.
For metro Atlanta — where millions of residents rely on cars for commuting — continued movement in fuel prices will remain an important economic issue to watch heading into October.
