ATLANTA, GA — Georgia voters are preparing to head to the polls Tuesday, November 3, for a closely watched midterm election that could reshape leadership at both the state and national levels.
Among the most significant contests is Georgia’s U.S. Senate race, where incumbent Democrat Jon Ossoff faces Republican challenger Mike Collins. The outcome could play an important role in determining the balance of power in Washington.
Georgia residents will also select a new governor to replace outgoing Republican Gov. Brian Kemp. Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, the Democratic nominee, is competing against Republican Rick Jackson.
Beyond the high-profile races, voters will decide several other statewide offices, congressional seats, and legislative positions.
Three proposed constitutional amendments are also on the statewide ballot. The measures address conservation-use property tax eligibility, nonpartisan probate judge elections, and funding for improvements to Georgia’s emergency 911 system.
Early in-person voting concluded October 30, leaving Election Day as the final opportunity for most voters who have not yet cast their ballots.
Polling locations throughout Georgia will operate from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday. Voters who are in line by closing time will still be permitted to vote.
Residents can verify their assigned polling locations and review their voter information through the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page.
With several major offices and policy questions at stake, the election is expected to draw significant attention from voters across metro Atlanta and throughout Georgia.
