Atlanta is officially preparing to welcome the Super Bowl back to the city, with Super Bowl LXII scheduled for Sunday, February 13, 2028, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The championship game will conclude the NFL’s 2027 season and bring one of the world’s biggest sporting events back to downtown Atlanta.
The 2028 matchup will mark the fourth time Atlanta has hosted a Super Bowl. The Georgia Dome hosted Super Bowl XXVIII in 1994 and Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000, while Mercedes-Benz Stadium made its Super Bowl debut in 2019 with Super Bowl LIII between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams.
Atlanta was originally selected to host Super Bowl LXII in October 2024, when NFL team owners approved the city during the league’s fall meeting. The selection further strengthens Atlanta’s reputation as a destination for major international sporting and entertainment events.
With the date now officially set, Atlanta has more than a year to prepare for the massive influx of football fans, events and festivities expected to surround Super Bowl Sunday on February 13, 2028.
