Atlanta rapper OJ Da Juiceman is facing serious legal trouble after authorities say he pointed a gun at a Georgia State Patrol trooper during a highway incident earlier this year.
According to law enforcement records, the rapper—whose real name is Otis Williams Jr.—was arrested and booked into the DeKalb County Jail on March 16 in connection to a January 28 incident on Interstate 20.
Investigators say the situation escalated during a traffic encounter, where a state trooper alleged that a driver pointed a firearm at him while driving on the interstate. The case led to a warrant being issued before Williams was later taken into custody.
Williams is now facing a total of 10 charges, including felony aggravated assault on a public safety officer and a misdemeanor count for pointing or aiming a gun at another person.
However, the case has taken a complicated turn. A woman connected to the vehicle involved claims the rapper was not actually driving at the time of the incident, stating that he had rented the car but allowed another individual to use it.
Williams’ legal team is pushing back against the allegations, filing a motion for bond and maintaining his innocence. His attorney says the rapper has strong ties to the community and is not considered a flight risk, expressing confidence that he will ultimately be cleared of the charges.
As the investigation continues, Williams remains in custody awaiting further court proceedings, with additional details expected once official incident reports are released.
