Atlanta is officially back on the biggest stage in sports. The NFL has announced that Super Bowl LXII will be hosted in Atlanta in 2028, bringing the championship game back to Mercedes-Benz Stadium and placing the city in the national spotlight once again.
The announcement confirms that NFL owners met and approved the decision, making Atlanta one of the select cities trusted to host the league’s biggest event. It will mark the fourth time Atlanta has hosted a Super Bowl, and the first time since the city last welcomed fans from around the world for Super Bowl LIII in 2019.
Beyond the game itself, a Super Bowl week brings massive energy to the city — including celebrity events, concerts, fan experiences, and a huge economic boost for local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and vendors across metro Atlanta.
With Atlanta also preparing to welcome the world for the FIFA World Cup in 2026, this is another major win showing the city’s growing reputation as a global destination for sports, entertainment, and culture.
