Atlanta’s iconic ONE Musicfest will not take place in 2026, as organizers have announced the festival is taking a one-year hiatus with plans to return in 2027 with a reimagined experience. The announcement ends the festival’s uninterrupted 16-year run as one of the city’s premier celebrations of music, culture, and community.
In a message shared with fans, festival founder Jason J. Carter emphasized that the decision is about growth—not ending the event. Organizers said the break will allow the team to develop new ideas, experiences, and partnerships designed to elevate the festival’s future.
“This isn’t about stepping away,” organizers shared. “It’s about building what’s next and creating an even stronger experience for the community that has supported ONE Musicfest from the beginning.”
Since launching in 2010 with a crowd of approximately 1,500 attendees, ONE Musicfest has grown into one of the nation’s largest celebrations of Black music and culture, attracting more than 100,000 fans annually to Atlanta. The festival has featured performances from artists including Future, Ludacris, Doechii, Mary J. Blige, The Roots, and many more.
The announcement has disappointed many fans and could also impact local businesses that benefit from the influx of visitors during festival weekend. ONE Musicfest has become a major economic and cultural event for Atlanta, drawing attendees from across the country each year.
While organizers have not announced specific dates for the festival’s return, they say work is already underway on a refreshed vision for 2027. Additional details, including new partnerships, programming, and ticket information, are expected to be announced at a later date.
