Atlanta-based law enforcement officers from the Chamblee Police Department arrested Akon (born Aliaune Thiam) on Friday after Flock camera technology flagged a vehicle registered to him at a business on Chamblee Dunwoody Road. FOX 5 Atlanta
The warrant stemmed from an earlier citation by the Roswell Police Department, when Thiam was found in September stranded in a white Tesla Cybertruck on Holcomb Bridge Road. His driver’s license had been suspended for failure to appear in court, and the vehicle was impounded. FOX 5 Atlanta
Akon cooperated with police at the scene, was transported to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Jail, and released a few hours later. No new charges have yet been announced, and details such as his next court date and status of the impounded vehicle remain unclear. FOX 5 Atlanta
