The Five Stripes delivered a comeback victory Saturday night, defeating Red Bull New York 2-1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and snapping a seven-match winless streak.
New York struck first when Emil Forsberg scored in the 6th minute, but Atlanta battled back in the second half. Tristan Muyumba found the net to even the match before Fafà Picault scored the game-winner in the 82nd minute, heading home a cross from Miguel Almirón. Alexey Miranchuk played a role in both Atlanta goals, while Muyumba scored for the second consecutive match.
The victory was Atlanta United’s first match back at Mercedes-Benz Stadium following an extended stretch of road games, and 38,469 fans were in attendance for the comeback win.
