ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta Dream’s pursuit of the franchise’s first WNBA championship came to a heartbreaking conclusion Saturday night following a closely contested Game 7 against the Golden State Valkyries.

Atlanta fell 68–63 at Chase Center in San Francisco, bringing an end to an exciting championship series that went the full seven games.

The Dream entered the decisive matchup with an opportunity to make franchise history. Atlanta remained competitive throughout the contest, taking a 30–24 advantage into halftime.

However, Golden State responded with a strong second-half performance, outscoring Atlanta 44–33 over the final two quarters.

Despite the disappointing outcome, the Dream’s postseason run provided fans with plenty to celebrate and demonstrated the team’s ability to compete on the league’s biggest stage.

The championship appearance also generated excitement among Atlanta basketball supporters, bringing additional attention to women’s professional sports in the city.

Although the season ended without a trophy, the Dream’s journey to Game 7 established a strong foundation for the franchise moving forward.

Atlanta will now turn its attention toward the offseason as the organization prepares for another opportunity to pursue its first championship.
