R. Kelly pleaded not guilty to 11 new felonies at his arraignment and each carries a maximum prison term of 30 years. The charges include not only aggravated criminal sexual abuse but also aggravated criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony; and criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony.
He initially pleaded not guilty in February to 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse involving three girls and one woman that lasted over 10 years.
The judge made it clear to R. Kelly that his next court date is on June 26 and told him he’s out on bond, emphasizing the significance of him appearing in court each and every court date.
