Rapper Cardi B is facing major public scrutiny after an Instagram Live video she recorded back in 2016 resurfaced on social media. In the video, Cardi B admits to mistreating men that she came across in order to survive before she became famous. The mistreatment included drugging and robbing men when she was working in strip clubs.
“I had to go strip,” Cardi B said in the initial Instagram Live video, which was re-uploaded to Twitter on March 24th. “I had to go, ‘Oh yeah, you want to f— me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, let’s go back to this hotel,’ and I drugged n—s up, and I robbed them. That’s what I used to do.”
The admission has sparked the hashtag #SurvivingCardiB, with many arguing that this information would be taken more seriously if Cardi was a man.
