SON SETS MOTHERS HOUSE ON FIRE AFTER ARGUMENT OVER BOX OF CHEEZ-ITS
Authorities told CBS46 News that two brothers and their 61-year-old mother got into a heated argument over a box of Cheez-Its crackers. The argument led a Georgia man to allegedly set his mother’s house on fire Tuesday morning.
Authorities responded to a call of a house fire in the suburb of Lithonia after a “domestic-related incident.” Dekalb County Fire Rescue Department said, “PD and fire responded to a domestic-related incident this morning.” They explained that once firefighters arrived on the scene, they saw smoke coming from the house.
CBS46 News stated that one of the brothers, who was intoxicated at the time, locked his brother and mom inside the home and then drenched the front steps with gasoline. The man supposedly set the house on fire and trapped his mother and brother inside. According to CBS46 news, the brother was able to get to his mother safely out of the house from a second-story window.
