The CDC (Center for Disease Control) admits that Atlanta’s high rate of HIV infections has been compared to that of third-world countries, but now the Center For Disease Control declares that it’s officially an epidemic. To be more specific, the Metro-Atlanta area rates are more alarming than any other area in the city. This is very serious especially since the demographic is predominately African-American men and women. According to AIDSVu, there are approximately are 35,402 people in Atlanta that are infected with the virus. Those that are aware of prevention acts have begin educating others on the benefits of PrEP and encouraging them to take the increasingly popular drug. The medicine is for those who do not have HIV, the lowers the chances of you getting infected.
