62 year old Beverly Harrison, North Alabama women set a package of ham on fire and tossed it into a garbage can at an Athens motel.
She is accused of setting the fire that caused at explosion at the Bomar Inn last month. The fire also caused a can of butane fuel to explode.
Police Chief Floyd Johnson stated that, “Investigators learned family had brought Harrison a pack of ham to eat and she didn’t want the ham.”
When smoke started filling Harrison’s room, she grabbed her dog and left.
Beverly Harrison is jailed on a felony arson charge and could be facing up to life in prison.
