M ATHEW KNOWLES CLAIMS HE LOST OUT ON A $175 MILLION DEAL.
Mathew Knowles says his lawyers at Lang Ferrer PLLC spread lies to the media about him auctioning off Beyonce and Destiny’s Child memorabilia. The lawyers claim Knowles failed to pay them $50,000 for work they performed, and also said that he pocketed the money to avoid paying back creditors. Mathew denied the claims and countersued Lang Ferrer PLLC for defamation, and claim that they threatened to make things “ugly for him” if he didn’t pay “excessive and unreasonable” legal invoices. Knowles further claimed that businesses and individuals turned down offers to work with him, citing that he didn’t pay his creditors. Knowles said that due to the allegations, he lost out on a $175 million deal with Port Royal Resort, along with a tenured professorship with Texas Southern University. He added that he was also turned down a deal to license a catalog of over 3,000 songs. Knowles is seeking $2 million.
