LOOKS LIKE POPULAR 90’s SHOW COULD POSSIBLY RETURN

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is an integral piece of 90’s culture. Young Will Smith captivated the country, and his on-screen family became our family. Uncle Phil, Aunt Viv, Carlton, Ash, Hillary, and Jeffery spent six years on the sitcom that America did not want to end. In the last few years, several 90’s sitcoms have made comebacks in new forms, like Fuller House and Girl Meets World. Now, Will’s legendary sitcom might be getting a reboot as well. Fans have speculated that The Fresh Prince was going to get an animated reboot after Will Smith posted Howard Russell’s cartoon interpretation of the show. The show is getting a twist, but not the animated kind.

Recently, trademark applications have been submitted by the company that owns the rights to Fresh Prince. The company intends to obtain the rights to “Fresh Princess” for a television show and every other form of media. “Fresh Princess” will also be trademarked for merchandise like backpacks, clothing, footwear, bags, and animal collars. Recasting the lead as a female allows the series to start fresh, and the Banks family may not be involved. The lead female has not yet been cast, and there is no word whether Will Smith will be involved in the process.
