Nelly was recently accused of raping a 21-year-old woman in Washington after one of his tour stops and partying with her and a group of friends. The alleged victim says that he forced her to have sex with a condom and told her to “shut up” when she refused. The victim’s lawyer is also claiming that Nelly and his team are intimidating the witness through his response in the media.
Ashanti, former girlfriend of Nelly was asked by a TMZ reporter if the Nelly in the news cycle is the guy she knew so very well.
Ashanti actually ignored the question and started promoting her music career and new music. She said, “I have a new song coming out and its called ‘Say yes.’ “I think it sounds dope and I mixed it in Atlanta. That’s what I was doing actually in Miami, recording records.”
The reporter thought the singer was being funny and wanted to make sure her “Say Less” comment had more background than just being her new song and Ashanti replied, “No, that’s the name of the single.”
