Sterling K Brown made history on Jan 7. being the first black actor to win a Golden Globe in the TV drama category for the NBC TV series “This Is Us”.
The award show interviewed Sterling after his win and stated “he has never been the first brother to do anything.” he said. In high school he was the fourth African-American student council president and the second black junior varsity basketball captain. In the drama tv series, Brown stars as Randall Pearson, the adopted black son of a white family.
This award follows the award that he previously made winning an Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a drama series. The second half of season 2 of “This Is Us” returns to NBC on January 9.
