ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta Falcons delivered their biggest performance of the young season Thursday night, defeating the Green Bay Packers 35-14 at Lambeau Field and giving Falcons fans plenty to celebrate.
Atlanta entered the matchup looking for its first victory after an 0-2 start. The offense responded in a major way, producing nearly 500 yards while leaning heavily on stars Bijan Robinson and Drake London.
Robinson rushed for 194 yards and finished with 213 total yards from scrimmage along with two touchdowns. London was equally impressive through the air, recording 194 receiving yards.
The performances put Robinson and London into the NFL record book. According to the Falcons, the pair became the first running back/wide receiver duo in league history to have three games together in which each player reached at least 150 rushing or receiving yards in their respective categories.
Robinson also surpassed 6,000 career yards from scrimmage, becoming just the 10th player in NFL history to reach that mark by age 25.
Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. also made his return following ACL surgery. After a difficult start that included an interception, Penix settled in and completed 18 of 25 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown.
Atlanta’s defense joined the party, holding Green Bay to just 17 rushing yards — the fewest the Falcons have allowed in a game in franchise history.
The victory moves Atlanta to 1-2 and gives the Falcons momentum ahead of an NFC South matchup against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.
