As winter weather approaches metro Atlanta, the Atlanta University Center (AUC) has announced campus closures for the weekend in an effort to keep students, staff, and the community safe.
According to the AUC, the campuses of Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Spelman College will all be closed Saturday and Sunday due to the storm threat.
Officials also confirmed the closure will include all campus activities and sporting events, as metro Atlanta faces growing concerns about potential significant icing and hazardous travel conditions.
The decision comes as winter storm conditions continue developing across Georgia, and safety officials are urging residents to plan ahead, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay updated as forecasts change throughout the weekend.
