Drivers across Georgia are seeing higher prices at the pump as ongoing global tensions continue to impact the oil market. According to GasBuddy, the average price of regular gasoline in the Atlanta area has increased by nearly five cents over the past week, with the metro average reaching about $3.52 per gallon. Despite the recent jump, prices remain lower than they were a month ago, though they are still significantly higher than this time last year.
Industry analysts say uncertainty surrounding global energy supplies and geopolitical conflicts is keeping upward pressure on crude oil prices, which could lead to additional fluctuations in fuel costs throughout the summer travel season. Motorists are encouraged to compare prices between stations and plan ahead to help reduce fuel expenses.
