Georgia 2026 Elections: Early Voting Begins Ahead of High-Stakes Primary

0

Early voting is officially underway across Georgia as voters begin casting ballots for the state’s 2026 primary elections, setting the stage for several major races that could shape leadership statewide.

The early voting period started Monday, April 27, and runs through mid-May, giving registered voters the opportunity to vote ahead of the primary election scheduled for May 19.

This year’s ballot includes a wide range of contests, from statewide offices like governor, lieutenant governor, and secretary of state to congressional seats and local races. These elections are expected to play a major role in determining the direction of key issues affecting Georgians, including public policy, economic decisions, and community leadership.

Officials continue to encourage voters to take advantage of early voting to avoid long lines and ensure participation, especially in primaries where turnout is traditionally lower but outcomes can still have a major impact.

With multiple competitive races and the potential for runoff elections in June, Georgia voters are being urged to review their ballots, confirm polling locations, and make a plan to vote early or on Election Day.
