A barbershop owned by a well-known Atlanta rapper is boarded up after someone fired shots in the area.

Channel 2 Action News shot video from Killer Mike’s Graffitis SWAG Shop early Monday morning and the shop had boarded up windows and broken glass.

The store is located along Roosevelt Highway in South Fulton County. On Instagram, the Atlanta rapper said a group of men were shooting at each other when bullets hit his barber shop nearby. He said because of the damage, the store’s re-launch is delayed.

Mike, also known as Mike Render, had a message for the people involved with the shooting:

“Please consider what would have happened if one of y’all actually hit one another. The jail, the lawyer fees, the funeral cost and two black families loss. I’m glad y’all cud not hit the side of a barn with a shot gun cuz this am y’all all are alive,” Killer Mike wrote.

Killer Mike is known for his activism in Atlanta.

Last year, he delivered a powerful speech during violent protests in Atlanta in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd.

“We have to be better than this moment. We have to be better than burning down our own homes because if we lose Atlanta what else do we have?” Mike said.

“I just don’t want to see people who look like me die unnecessarily because of cabin fever”, Killer Mike said.
