Hall County officials said multiple people were taken to hospitals after a chemical explosion at a plant on Thursday morning.
The incident happened at Prime Pak Foods.
Officials from the Northeast Georgia Health System said they were treating multiple patients in the emergency room. A news conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. You can watch it LIVE on Channel 2 and on the WSB Now app on Roku, Amazon Fire or Apple TV.
It’s unclear how many people were injured.
Gainesville police Memorial Park Drive is shut down from Browns Bridge Road to Atlanta Highway. Police are asking the public to avoid the area.
Nearby Lyman Hall Elementary school is sheltering in place.
