Those who recently moved to Georgia, moved to a new county or turned 18 need to register if they want vote.

Registered voters are eligible to vote by mail or in person.

More than 1.1 million voters have requested absentee ballots so far. In addition, polls will be open for three weeks of early voting starting May 18 and on election day June 9.

To be eligible to register to vote in Georgia, you must be a citizen, legal resident and more than 17 1/2 years old (though you can’t vote until you’re 18). In addition, you can’t be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude or found mentally incompetent by a judge.
