However, throughout the testimonies, hearings, and allegations, the world has not yet heard from former 24 year- old girlfriend Joycelyn Savage until now.
Savage has decided to break the ice about her dark, unseen, but most talked about relationship with Grammy award-winning singer R-Kelly. Savage has shift roles from girlfriend to victim since the arrest of R-Kelly.
The victim made a statement via email and Instagram on Saturday stating “I am here to tell my story I will reveal information/secrets I’ve been sweared to not ever bring to light, but I am willing to risk it all,”
Savage has lived with the artist since she was 19 years old. She allegedly met the singer at age 17 and has been dating him ever since. Since the artist’s arrest for charges of multiple accounts of sexual assault and child pornography, Savage has partnered with Patreon to share her truth.
The Savage parents are relieved to see their daughter. Jonjelyn Savage, the mother of Joycelyn, expressed, “She’s finally coming to her senses, and she’s ready to reveal her story in her own words.”
While many people are eager to hear what Mrs. Savage has to say about her relationship with R-Kelly, the singer’s attorney Steve Greenberg spoke with Variety about his beliefs on Savage’s motives behind her break of silence.
“It is unfortunate that Jocelyn now seeks to make money by exploiting her long time, loving relationship with Robert. Obviously, if she were, to tell the truth no one would pay, so she has, unfortunately, chosen to regurgitate the stories and lies told by others for her profit. We know the real facts, and it was not until the money ran out that she decided anything was wrong. Hopefully, people will see it for the obvious profiteering it is.”
Joycelyn Savage is set to release multiple chapters on her life with Kelly on Patreon. A subscription-based platform where fans can pay between $3 to $25 to connect with their favorite creators. The tell-it-all is set to expose secrets that were never intended to come to light, including information that Savage states she was required to sign an NDA.
According to Savage’s family lawyer Gerald Griggs, the information that savage is holding could “birth another case” against Kelly.
