Bring Its dance coach, John Conner III pleads guilty to sex charges after police say he raped one of his male students exposing him to HIV.
The Memphis, Tennessee coach first connected with the then 16-year old teen through Snap chat in 2015. They met up on several occasions while having unprotected sex in Connor’s car, exchanged texts discussing their sexual activity, leading up to the teen joining the “Bring It” dance team.
According to Shelby County prosecutors, John Conner III Conner was diagnosed as HIV positive in 2012 and failed to share his status with the minor. The teen reported Conner’s sexual abuse to his parent’s and they insisted that he went through the “Rape Kit” procedure revealing that he is now HIV positive.
In September of 2016, Conner was arrested and charged with criminal exposure to HIV, statutory rape by an authority figure and solicitation of a minor. Conner III was set to start trial this week, but he decided to plead guilty instead. His next court date for his sentencing is set for December 20, 2019.
John Conner III also is known as “Coach John,” “Lil John” or “Jay John” and his dance team, “The Infamous Dancerettes,” which appeared on the Lifetime series Bring It!
