A new park is set to open! More details inside…

The city of Chamblee is reopening a local park that was revamped over the summer.

Renovations at Village Park have been ongoing since May. The park now features a multi-use field, community garden, playground, and entertainment plaza, the city said in a statement.

Crews also renovated the parking lot, lighting and fencing. Chamblee paid Integrated Construction and Nobility, Inc. $778,000 to work on the park. That included $150,000 from a DeKalb County Community Development Block Grant, which helped pay for improvements that made playground equipment compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The city plans to hold a ribbon-cutting at the park next Friday, Nov. 8 at 5 p.m. The ceremony will be following by a showing of “Toy Story 4” on the lawn. Free popcorn and bottled water will be available, and the city urged residents to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Village Park is located at 3397 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, in the International Village at the intersection of Chamblee Dunwoody and New Peachtree roads.
