SHE HAS WHAT?
A woman has been diagnosed with a rare cancer that is normally linked to breast implants, but is now linked to butt implants as well. This form of cancer is known as anapestic large cell lymphoma.
Over the past 8 years, the FDA has reported 850 cases of this specific cancer. A study shows that women with “textured implants” are more likely to develop the disease. The woman who was recently diagnosed is helping “to demonstrate that many textured implants could potentially be a risk factor for ALCL and that in general, the discussion should move from ‘breast implant associated cancer’ to ‘implant associated cancer’ to better encompass the full spectrum of the disease,” the authors of the study wrote in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.
