Cardi B and Azealia Banks are beefing again, to nobody’s surprise. The feud reignited when Banks visited 105.1’s The Breakfast Club on May 11 and slammed Cardi B on the air. “Two years ago, the conversation surrounding black women’s culture was really reaching an all-time high,” Banks stated during the interview. “There was just this really, really, really intelligent conversation going on nationally and then everything just kind of changed and then it was like Cardi B.

She continued on to compare Cardi to Nicki Minaj, another rapper that Banks has beefed with. “I’m just talking about this caricature of a black woman that black women themselves would never be able to get away with. Like, if my spelling and grammar was that bad, I’d be canceled. If Nicki Minaj spelled like that, we would be ragging on her all day.”

Cardi snapped back at Banks on Instagram, posting two separate replies. The first reply was a short essay that Cardi typed and uploaded a screenshot of. “A woman who constantly finds joy in belittling black women (Beyonce, Rihanna, Skai Jackson, Remy Ma), can’t try and stand for them because it’s convenient! The difference between me and you, I’ve never pretended to be or represent someone I’m not,” wrote Cardi in the long response. The “Be Careful” rapper also commented on another post that featured Banks. “I speak how I speak I am how I am,” Cardi wrote. Then the rapper deleted her Instagram.

Cardi responded to one fan who asked her if she had finally been chased off the ‘Gram. “Naa i just wanted to see if people will finally keep my name out they mouth. You proving me that on or off you hoes got me in your mouth and in ya fingers regardless.”
