This makes no sense!!
Officials at Henry W. Grady High School say that some of their students are using popular baking ingredients to get intoxicated. The students have been reported to go to a Trader Joe’s to purchase vanilla extract to mix into their Starbucks coffee.
McCormick Vanilla Extract is not the culprit, but it is Trader Joe’s Pure Bourbon Vanilla Extract. The high school took to Facebook to warn parents of the intoxicant. The post reads, “This is not an indictment of Trader Joe’s at all but parents please be aware that this product contains 35% alcohol and we have discovered that some students have consumed this intoxicant. Another thing to keep an eye out for.”
A four-ounce bottle is sold for $9 in store. Also, at least one student has ended up in the hospital.
