“RATHER THAN DEFENDING OUR COUNTRY..THEY JUST WON’T BROADCAST”
In May, the National Football League implemented a policy that banned kneeling during the national anthem and permitted players to remain in the locker room during it. While “The Star Spangled Banner” airs, the remaining players on the field are expected to abide by and respect the rules by standing or else fined. However, the players agreed to pay the fines. As a result, the NFL canceled the broadcasting of the national anthem.
ESPN President, Jimmy Piatro, communicated to the NFL, as well as to the press, that they will not be broadcasting the national anthem during “Monday Night Football.” Donald Trump did not agree and believes that ESPN should remain its own network and not follow behind the actions of the National Football League. To support his case, he has issued a petition to join him in “denouncing the SPINELESS surrender to the politically correct liberal mob.”
