After 60 years of the chain being around and using the acronym “IHOP” since 1973. The International House of Pancakes tweeted and posted to its social media on Tuesday that it plans to “flip” the “P” to a “b” on June 11.
The announcement has people going crazy, people are suggesting and wondering if the b stands for brunch, breakfast, or bacon.
IHOP’s social media team enjoyed picking fun with speculation of what the b may stand for, even making joking suggestions of a Twitter poll asking: “IHOb? What could it b? #IHOb.” The stock nearly went up 25% this year because sales are growing at the restaurant. It’s so hard to imagine why the company would want to change a name that’s so well-known and beloved by many.
