A Canadian women is sentenced to 8 years in prison for being an accomplice in an attempt to smuggle 210 lbs. of cocaine on a cruise.
Melina Roberge, 24, and Isabelle Lagace, 28, were hired as a cover to smuggle $16M worth of narcotics. Apart of their role was to document their time on the around the world cruise. They causally posted pictures at the exotic locations and ports.
The young women will likely be deported to Canada and forced to serve their sentence there. The two expressed they were motivated by money and the “lavish”lifestyle their employer offered.
According to sources the man that hired them instilled fear into them and also acted as their “sugar daddy”.
The women will serve four and half years for a non-parole period. They expect that the young womens employer, Andre Tamin, will serve a life in prison.
