Famous directors, Will Packer and Kenny Burns have united with Universal Pictures to produce an action comedy.
The script will be based on a true story that is set in Atlanta, GA, in the early 70’s. It will be about the largest and most impulsive heist that was conducted by Gordon “Chicken Man”Williams. It gives the audience a look into the after party of Muhammad Ali’s comeback fight that was held in Atlanta that was thrown by the Atlanta native hustler, Williams. The party concluded when the partygoers are robbed of more than $1 million at gunpoint. This film will also highlight Atlanta’s first black detective, JD Hudson, who helped close this case.
The film will be produced by Packer and executive produced Burns, who brought the opportunity to Packer. As well, Jeff Keating, who is a longtime rights holder, will also join the duo as a co-producer.
