ITS SO HARD, TO SAY GOODBYE… Debra Lee is stepping down as president of BET. The former president for more than 20 years sent an email to staff yesterday about her reassignment.
Lee, who joined BET in 1986 and rose to president/CEO of the system in 2005, will stay at the organization, with her part moving towards an ambassadorial and effort position for BET’s different partners and the group on the loose. As the years progressed, Lee has supervised BET’s development in grants appears, scripted programming, live occasions and documentaries, and this February was honored at Clive Davis and the Recording Academy’s yearly Pre-Grammy Gala with the Grammy Salute to Industry Icons respect, the principal lady to have gotten that honor. She will stay as executive/CEO.
