IS THAT REALLY NECESSARY? OR IS MARY JUST UPSET THAT SHE LOST?
The results came in early this morning, as the mayoral race came to an end, and Keisha Lance Bottoms was named the 60th mayor of Atlanta!
Keisha was promoting all week in the streets, and had many celerities co sign her, including rapper T.I., Killer Mike, DC Young Fly, Common, 21 Savage, Tyrese Gibson and more!
Although the election was very close, with 759 votes in between the two candidates (Bottoms with 46,464 votes and Norwood with 45,705), Mary Norwood insisted that they have a recount.
Mary stated that there was an unofficial count in remarks before her supporters, and said while she was trailing her opponent Bottoms, she was waiting for further updates on the vote total later in the week.
She claimed that here was 2 other areas in Dekalb County, making it an additional 2 newly added areas that many not have been counted for in Dekalb. No one has an answer yet, but they are waiting to see if those votes went in.
No the less, Keisha Lance Bottoms was named mayor, and we are excited to see all that she will do for our city!
