Earlier this year, Katie Wimbush-Polk, Wiz Khalifa’s mother filed a $50,000 defamation suit against Amber Rose. Wimbush-Polk’s suit alleges that Rose slandered her to a third party. She is accusing Rose of calling her a negligent parent, stating that Rose allegedly called her an unfit mother and said that she was to blame for her son’s death. (Wimbush-Polk’s son Dorien Thomaz passed away in February of complications from lymphoma.) The lawsuit also claims that Rose saw Wimbush-Polk as unfit to visit or care for her 4-year-old son Sebastian.
In response, to the Wimbush-Polk’s suit Rose filed for a restraining order against her.
Fast forward to now. A judge has thrown the defamation lawsuit out, in the ruling, the Pennsylvania court agreed that Rose’s alleged statements were insulting, but ruled that “mere insults, indignities, threats, annoyances, petty oppressions, and other trivialities” aren’t enough to prove emotional distress, which is required for defamation cases.
