WOULD YOU ATTEND AN EVENT LIKE THIS ONE?

When it comes to an event for meet and greet it is supposed to bring beneficial to everyone who attends. However, a event that was taking place in Lawrenceville, Ga was titled “Come Meet A Black Person”. The title of the event has people from different races debating about the title of the name being racist and the purpose of the event. The founder, and President of Urban MediaMakers, Cheryle Moses told The Associated Press that the event was supposed to encourage people from different ethnicity to build a relationship of trust and understanding.

The event was posted on Urban MediaMakers Facebook page, and of course it caught a lot of viewers attention due to the title. Moses said, “Because with the divisive and racist atmosphere of this country, we want to do something to positively challenge the negativity”. Moses has done some research that came from The American Values Survey and it said three-quarters of white people do not have any friends from a different race. Urban MediaMakers hopes the network will go well but most importantly help people but aside any pre-conceived notions about the black community.
