{STREETZ MORNING TAKEOVER} Hundreds gather downtown for the DACA Protest

Several people gathered downtown Atlanta Monday to protest President Trump ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

Trump is expected to announce that he is ending the program that protects undocumented immigrants brought to this country as children from being immediately deported. If this program does end nearly 800,000 undocumented immigrants will be in trouble.

Trump is being pressured to end the DACA program by a group of attorneys who say the program that started in 2012 was illegal anyways. Georgia and a dozen other states are in support of Trump reversing the DACA program.

Nayeli Kyser is a known recipient to the DACA program and in a interview with WSB-TV Kyser says she worries if President Trump reverse the Dreamer program, it will destroy her family. Kyser says “I’m a wife to an American citizen so it honestly would be a separation for my family as it has been for so many others. I have no where else to go, this has been my home, I’m accustomed to all of the traditions”.
