MONEY MAY !

Floyd Mayweather Jr. to talk dollars when the cameras roll. The man who’s reeled in the biggest fortune in the history of prize fighting spoke from his element while appearing before a television audience on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday, August 15. As soon as the segment began he was asked how he was feeling with less than two weeks to go before his lucrative match-up against Conor McGregor, and his reply: “I feel like money.”

Over the past couple of weeks, The Money Team has been refuting claims that sales for the fight are lagging. Long time Mayweather partner Leonard Ellerbe has lashed out at the press for perpetuating such a narrative, saying that it has been the case with past potential blockbusters that big fights fail to sell out early because of the price of the tickets, and the reality of scheduling for the type of fan who could actually afford to attend an event in which tickets run in the thousands and tens of thousands. Whatever the case, Floyd doesn’t seem to have been concerned about his purse thus far, confirming on Kimmel that he expects to make up to $350 million.

Mayweather made $250 million for his biggest payday vs. Manny Pacquiao in 2015. The McGregor fight is tailor made to help the undefeated great meet loftier expectations, as it will bring the UFC viewership together with Boxing’s viewership on August 26. And Mayweather is putting it out there that once he’s gotten the job done and he’s handled his obligation to the press and freshened up, he’ll be looking forward to raking in another $300,000 during the fight’s after party at his Girl Collective strip club.
