He strikes a DUI plea deal!

Golf great Tiger Woods pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a DUI charge stemming from May as part of a deal that is expected to keep him out of jail and placed instead in a special program, Florida prosecutors said Wednesday.

Woods did not attend the short Palm Beach County court hearing, but Chief Assistant State Attorney Adrienne Ellis outlined the terms of a plea deal that the links legend is expected to accept on Oct. 25.

Under the deal — which is still subject to a judge’s approval — Woods, 41, who pleaded not guilty to the May DUI charge, would plead guilty to a lesser charge of reckless endangerment. In turn, he will receive a year of probation and be sentenced to 50 hours of community service. He must also submit to random drug tests, attend DUI school and pay a $250 fine.

Woods’ attorney Douglas Duncan said Woods would attend the Oct. 25 hearing, but refused to talk to reporters as he left the courthouse.

Woods was arrested on May 29 about 15 miles from his  home in Jupiter, Fla., officials said.
