Fresh Kid Ice, the founding member of 2 Live Crew has passed away. He formed the legendary hip-hop crew with DJ Mr. Mixx and Amazing Vee in 1984. According to the group’s manager, the pioneer for Asian rapper died at 7:50 AM Thursday in a Miami hospital due to a medical condition. He was just 53 years old.
Fresh Kid, whose real name was Chris Wong Won served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and formed his own label Chinaman Records. Former group member Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell took to Twitter to send his condolences.
