MAJOR CHANGES HAS BEEN MADE TO THE BARBIE DOLL!
So Barbie was launched in 1959, but Barbie has gained a bad name and reputation because of the unrealistic body proportions and sexualized appearance that Barbie has been portraying! These bad characteristics has caused Barbie sales to plummet tremendously.
On Tuesday, The company decided to take control an launch out 15 new styles Barbie dolls, that were more realistic and diverse looking. The dolls have seven new skin tones, nine hairstyles that include cornrolls, man buns and even afros! The outfits differ from business causal styles to athletic attire.
The company has been makking it a goal to revive the failing sales. Sales for the brand fell 13 percent to $123 million dollars in the first quarter this year, from $141 Million the year before!
