POLICE INVESTIGATING SUSPICIOUS BAGS LEFT AROUND THE CAPITOL
Atlanta PD shut down roads surrounding the capitol building Monday morning for several hours as they investigated possible terrorist activity.
Severals bags were left on and around the building, causing police to perform a thorough investigation. Some of the bags were placed on statues, including the Carter statue, outside the capitol.
Police have yet to comment on what was in the bags, but they have confirmed that they were not explosive. They are continuing to investigate why the bags were left and who left them.
All roads near the capitol have been reopened.
