Former Georgia Tech football star Recardo Wimbush and his wife Therian Wimbush were sentenced to 20 years each in prison after locking their 13-year-old in a basement for 2 years.
The police received an anonymous tip and found the child locked in a basement with only a mattress, a box spring, and a bucket to use as a toilet. The window was also painted over and only allowed for minimal sunlight.
The parents defended themselves saying that the child had molested his 3 younger sisters and actually “suggested the punishment” for himself. However, the judge showed no mercy and slapped both with 20 years in prison.
